our mission
The Next Black Educator Workforce (NBEW) is committed to building a sustainable pipeline of highly qualified Black educators who will lead, teach, and mentor in racially isolated areas, while amplifying Black voices, perspectives, and leadership across classrooms in California and beyond.
what we do
We provide a transformative two-year pathway to becoming a credentialed teacher while earning a Master of Arts in Education and a California Single Subject Teaching Credential through our partner, the University of the Pacific.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Aspiring Educators
Recent or soon-to-be college graduates who are passionate about social justice and interested in earning a Master’s degree while becoming credentialed middle or high school teachers—specifically focused on supporting Black students in racially isolated communities.
SCHOOL PARTNERs
We are seeking schools or school districts interested in partnering with Project Sankofa's Next Black Educator Workforce (NBEW) program because they believe in empowering the next generation of Black Educators.
